Marian Stanley - aka MARIANNA - is our resident expert on all things Italian.

Since joining South Melbourne Travel in 2000, Marian’s love of Italy continues to blossom.

Averaging at least two trips to Italy every year, Marian can offer first-hand and detailed knowledge about our villas in Tuscany, Umbria, Puglia, Sicily and the Ligurian Coast. She can also direct you to the perfect hot chocolate in Orvieto, send you truffling in the hills, tell you which rooms at the Hotel Metropole in Santa Margherita provide the most stunning views, and explain why the first thing to do when you land in Italy is find a great espresso at the airport

How passionate is she about her job? Just say the word “Italy” in her presence and find out!

A partner and part-owner of SMT since 2006, Marian runs the day to day business of South Melbourne Travel. She is wild about Italy, but she can equally help you with amazing stopovers in Dubai, a luxury week in Paris or visit to a spa in Thailand or Bali’s latest new hotels. Most recently she has just returned from Sicily. Ask her about Viesca Estate properties in Tuscany.

Sarah Low founded South Melbourne travel in 1997, with a desire to offer a truly independent and personal travel service to a discerning clientel. Sarah lists France, Switzerland and East Africa among her favourite travel destinations. She spent most of the 1980’s living, working and studying in Europe: years that made her both francophone and a devoted “Europhile”. With aspirations to use her destination knowledge and language skills, Sarah began her travel career in earnest at the end of the eighties. Just under a decade later, in 1997, Sarah branched out on her own, and South Melbourne Travel was born.
